Does anybody know of a place to purchase a Tronix Explorer in Boston? I know I can purchase directly from Innovatronix, but by the time you add shipping, they're all about $325 and more, depending on the model. If I could pick it up myself and save on the shipping, I'd prefer that.

And from all of you who use a Tronix Explorer, any problems to report? Do you find it dependable?

I know that Innovatronix was setting up a US distributor but I don't have all the details. At one time I had the link. I'll look for it and post if I find it.

I've been using Innovatronix batteries for several years now and I love them. Rugged and built like tanks, lots of power, reliable as hell. :D

If you're going to use multiple bivoltage strobes then I'd be careful. I've fried two D-lites with the XT SE. I think it also damaged a BX-Ri.

Worked fine with a single Genesis 400, but if you plugged two into it they went nuts. Random flashing and constantly beeping. It's worked flawlessly with My AB1600 though.

Mine shipped from either Taiwan or Philippines, can't remember which. Ordered online from Tronix website. It shipped the following day via UPS air and was delivered within 4 days.

As far as the unit itself, I've had absolutely NO problems running 2 400ws Elinchrom D-Lites for hours on end without a mis-pop or damage to anything. It's a very powerful unit and will run a long time on a single charge.

As far as a US dealer, no idea. Just letting you know shipping to US direct from Philippines (or Taiwan) was not an issue at all. Very fast shipping & delivery. Good service from website order through final delivery. Unit was packed extremely well. Someone took the time to design adequate packaging which is always nice. Even UPS couldn't damage during transport!

I'm sorry to invade this topic (and risk being off-topic), but I have a question for the Tronix users.
Does anyone know, by any chance, if the Tronix works with Walimex CY Series flashes, specifically CY-500JZL?

Tronix customer support must've gotten my mail in the spam box or something.

Thanks in advance and sorry again for being a bit off-topic.

They don't show a Walimex strobe with that power rating or that model on the Compatibility chart. That means it hasn't been tested. They might venture a guess but if it's not on their Compatibility chart then the only way to know is to try it yourself.

I saw that these guys: http://www.mediaresort.de …XT-WHITE-Edition-Bag.html (external link) in Germany are pretty much the only ones that posted a compatibility between Tronix / Walimex.

My question was somewhat of a long shot that one of you uses Walimex as myself.

Thanks anyway, Robert!
