I am wondering if any here had ever sent their Sigma lens in for focusing issues (front/back focusing) and received it back with noticeable marks. I'm a bit skeptical about sending a lens 3,000 miles away for them to take it all apart without leaving scuffs or scratches on the lens.

My brother just sent one of his in, and they currently have it. I don't suspect there will be any issue. If there is, I'll post an update to this thread.

I sent one new lens on where the AF was off a bit. They returned it quickly and fixed 100%.

I don't know for sure, but I would think that the people that are working on the lenses are trained technicians, and work with camera equipment every day. Most service work done is on warranty work, so why would they beat the hell out of yours (or any) lens? If it's the 3000 miles that makes you paraniod, then damage lies with the person who packed the item for shipping!

It did take a loooong time, but the lens came back performing better than it left.
