Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 MTF Chart

The chart for the to-be-soon-released Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 is available on Lloyd Chamber's blog here:

Just comparing it to the others on his site (paid only), it looks good but not spectacular, but I'm no expert on MTFs.

well I think the comparison is only valid against Zeiss 35/2 ZE since they are both real life MTF. It's not comparable to Canon or Nikon lenses' MTF since their MTF are theoretical from the design. :D

You can't compare the absolute performance, but can't you compare the relative.. Like how it performs in wide open, in the center/corner/border vs stopping it down one stop/two stops, etc...

To be clear, the comparisons on Lloyd Chamber's website are only against other Zeiss lenses' MTF charts, so they may be of some comparative utility. I hope someone who understands the charts better than I can comment about what they observe and might expect from the lens.
