I have a 430EX Speedlite currently, and I was wondering if either the Sigma EF 530 or 610 would work as a master for it. The Sigma site doesn't give much info on whether or not it does, and reading the brief that B&H has, there isn't any info either.

Thanks for the help.

You want to make sure that you get the "Super" version, but the answer is yes. I have a Sigma EF-500 DG Super that I can be used as a master or slave in the Canon wireless E-TTL protocols. I also have a Canon 580EX II that was used in these tests (Sigma as master and the Canon as slave), so you shouldn't have any issues with the newer Sigma flashes in your setup. I will give you a head's up, that the menu system on the Sigma isn't as straightforward as that on a Canon, but once you figure it out, it works just fine.

If you are looking to save money, don't forget about the old-but-great 550EX. Still available used for MUCH less than the 580EX. It can be a master, too.
