Well my first thread in the business section!
At present I am looking at approaching a company with whom I have good personal and professional relationships (not photography related). They know I enjoy photography and like my photographs.
Our industry is providing lighting and sound for a range of events spreading across a large range of genres. This company in particular deal with more "corporate" clients. I want to offer them my time (if they will have me!) in order to gain experience, but in return I would like use of the photographs for portfolio use.
So this brings me to my main question, I know I will need some form of release from the company to use the images, as well as granting them rights for web usage. I have read the sticky at the top and seen several "templates" all based around models. Would a similar template be applicable in this instance but with a re-wording?
I enjoy reading, so ideally I would like to read a book specifically for photographers. I have found this
but it seems largely bias towards the American market.
One further element of confusion is although said company will be putting on the event, they themselves will be hired on behalf of the client. In order for me to use the images will I also need to contact the host company paying for the event?
Whilst I am after developing something comprehensive I also don't want to scare them off with large worded and long winded contracts, I appreciate this may not feasible!
Here are three examples of events related to the question:
1.
![]() | HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'text/html' | Byte size: ZERO |
2.
![]() | HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'text/html' | Byte size: ZERO |
3.
![]() | HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'image/gif' | Byte size: ZERO | PHOTOBUCKET ERROR IMAGE |
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
