A real Photographer will say, lens problem, unless it is clear that it is intended, in this picture I would say Lens problem... Pixel Peeper

There are many times vignetting can help a picture, but personally my eye jumps right to the center immediately. I too would like to see the color version. But the B&W looks nice! -Patrick

IMO better control over b/w interpretation.
