I've read a ton on both these bags but can't find a very good comparison of the two... I have a UD35, and like it, but don't "LOVE" it. It feels really boxy, and doesn't sit very well on my hip.

I want to carry my 50D w/24-105 on, 70-200 4IS, and maybe another smaller lens. Plus the assorted bits and bobs - filters, cables, batteries, 430 EX... I would occasionally carry my netbook, which will fit in the front pocket of the 10, and now goes in the laptop pocket of the UD35.

Does anyone have experience with both these bags? Can you give me some real world opinion? I live hours/days away from a shop that carries these bags, so I have to depend on online review and opinion.

I have both bags and I agree about the ud35 I actually use this more as a carry on travel bag. I like the retro 10 and I am sure you can find a lot of info here so I suggest doing a search. It will certainly fit you gear as well as the extras.

I too wish it could seal.

Thanks, Tommy - I done the search. Read everything here I can find, including the long review thread. Can you tell me what you like better about each bag, since you have them both?

The UD35 I find very useful for what it can hold but I don't like it as a bag I shoot out of. I got this to use with a 70-200 2.8 mounted but its a bag I almost never use. I think overall the R10 is a more useful bag and more of a shooters bag and I like that I can hang modular pouches to carry more when I want to use it more as a transport bag but it really depends on what you plan to use it for.

One negative is I find it to be a little heavy ( about 3 pounds ) for such a small bag and I prefer the UD bags that I can zip up over the flap plus its a bag that does not hold its shape which can be good or bad depending on your view. Good that it conforms to your body but bad because it can make it a little sloppy inside making it harder to get stuff in and out ( I seem to prefer bags that hold shape ) but overall there are many pluses. I have tried a lot of bags and this is one of my fav's so the pro's far outweigh the cons.

Lately I prefer using a Digital holster ver.2 plus a UD 20. Both zip up and both are small but I tend to travel pretty light so it fits me. I find I like the Retro bag as more of a transport bag and not one I carry and shoot out of but it certainly can be used that way and ist probably used that way by most, when I take off the pouches its pretty compact.

I attached a pic to show a setup I have used with it.

/\ Thanks, Tommy - that kind of info is exactly what I'm looking for! Anyone else?
