These are 5th grade "all-net" basketball players. They move fairly fast but I got away with 1/500th of a second most of the time. I really liked the 8fps with the 1d

Always tough with that type of lighting. Nice work. My only recommendation is a little NR for #2 and #4 (Topaz Denoise is killer).

Nice to see the classic still being used as intended.

It's a shame people trash the capabilities of the camera solely based it's age.

Christian.

If those images were your first with the 1D, the color balance is great the expression of the children's faces you captured is priceless. The players are in great focus and the background, crowd etc are blurred as they should be. The color temp in the gym I shoot in are one temp and one end and another at the other end because of skylights, so I attempt to get a happy medium and use an Expo Disc. Thanks for posting them. Now I wished I had bought the 1D Mark IIn instead of the 5DMark II, the 1D is the besgt body in the hand of the sports shooter.

A great photo only starts with the shutter release,
1DS Mark ii,7D , 40D, 24 mm 2.8, 50mm 1.8, 50 mm 1.4, 28-138, 18-200, 70-200 2.8, 100-400 4.5-5.6 , 580 EXII,
