I like the second one better than the first, for the simple reason that the subject in the first is in a "standard" pose that seems a bit overused. http://mpaulphotography.wordpress.com

I like the second one better than the first, for the simple reason that the subject in the first is in a "standard" pose that seems a bit overused. However - it looks like you used a texture on the images that totally ruins them for me. It's distracting and annoying because it doesn't seem realistic. The texture seems too strong - too much detail sticking out and detracting from the more important images. I would remove the textures and rely on the strong images, or perhaps add a little film grain for more of a grit feel. I'm also not too enthusiastic about the strong vingnette - assuming that you actually added one and it's not the lighting throwing me off. It seems contrived. Both images are extremely high contrast. That's ok, as long as you don't mind losing all the details in the first subject's arm and fingers/frets. I personally would tone down the contrast a bit and open up the shadows a little more if it was my image. I would also remove the lights in the second image in the upper right hand corner. They pull the eye away from the subject and aren't really needed. Some simple cloning should deal with them fairly quickly and easily. I'm being super picky - overall, good work, just a little too much processing for my tastes ![]() Thanks man! glad u took the time to get bk to me! 5D, 7D, 30D.
