I'm working on trying to capture this type of shot and I'm still playing with settings. The first shot is taken with a 70-200 2.8 II with a 1.4x. The second is taken with just the 70-200 2.8 II with no extender but a polarizer added to help with the reflection of the water.

I still haven't captured what I think I want and will go back today to try again. Thoughts?

Good Luck, I like #1 with the long step it is taking and 2 looks better with less glare, I bet you droped a few stops with the polarizer, might make it hard to get fast shots.
All in all very nice and Good Luck again!
