Hi
Just wondering if there is a better alternative to Canon DPP for processing RAW. My understanding is that only DPP will recognize Picture Settting data set in-camera.

They each have advantages and disadvantages. Sometimes LR3 does better than the other two and sometimes DPP does better. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Look at the Resolution images on this review for the 7D. Isn't that odd? DPP seems to do very well. 5D mk III | TS-E 17 f/4L | 50 f/1.4 | 70-200 f/2.8L IS II | 100 f/2.8L Macro IS | 300 f/2.8L IS | 600 f/4L IS II | 1.4x III | 2x III | Gitzo tripods | RRS ballheads | Wimberley gimbal

It is the same basic engine as in Adobe Camera Raw that is part of the larger Photoshop product package. LR is about importing, processing raw files, and building up a photo catalog of file folders, and logical collections. LR will also let you build slideshows and presentatons from your photos.
