In all the years I have been coming to the forum I have always got the info I needed and helped me grow as a photographer....

As foolish as it seems now I left a black create and bag in the back of my truck with camper shell locked for two hours max. It was dark and can't see how anyone saw into the truck and/or if they did would want to take a huge black create.

All my studio equipt. was stolen out of my truck...

All my strobes, stands, clips, tapes, clamps, speedrings, gels, etc. you name it the f*ckers took it.

I have all the big ticket items covered but all the small items I am sure ads up to several thousand dollars and took years to purchase, all in all i think the value was about 6500 usd

OK, so here is my question

I'm still in shock but while I am waiting for insurance etc., I've begun to look at replacing the gear. I was shooting with white lightings but never really took them out on location often due to size and heavy battery. I was about to pull the plug on the RX Quadra system with the A heads. I shoot mostly on location, sport etc.

my head is in a fog I guess I am just looking for other photographers that have used the products to give me their endorsement and or suggestion to alternatives.

THoughts? Suggestions?

Also, I had all my pocket wizzards took also, need to replace these as well.

I had the plus ii, do I go back and get them, do I upgrade to the mini/flex? another combo?

Also lost the 580 exii and need to replace that as well, so a solution that would work with all of this.

Larry

I have 4 Einsteins and two Vagabond Minis along with a Cyber Commander.
I know that Elinchrom and Profoto also have remotely controlled monolights, but I think the E640s and other stuff is very good and at an attractive price.
Only problem, of course, is that at the moment all is on backorder.

If you can't wait for them to come off backorder I'd be really tempted to get Elinchrom Ranger and Quadra gear.

I looked at the einsteins, a friend had them but said he'd think twice about taking them outside often, plus they are back ordered and I need to get something and test it often before I leave for the job.
the vag mini is on back order also otherwise that's what I would have gotten since I have an AB800 left.

I'm heading over to look at the Quadra gear, that looks like the best option

No advice for ya, just wanted to say what a horrible thing to happen, can't imagine it. Hope the insurance company rewards ya well so you can get going again.
