I was fortunate enough to spend this past Sunday at Lock and Dam 14. Everyone there was friendly, especially Steve and Kato. The weather was cold and cloudy most of Sunday but they get in so close it doesn't really matter unless you are shooting upward. I shot mostly with my 500mm and I have several where the birds are actually too close and more than filled up the frame. I'll definately go back again for the Eagles and probably in the Spring for the Pelicans. I was told by a photographer that in April and May there are many Pelicans in the area. He also said that you need to be on the opposite side of the river for the best opportunity.
