G12 Video Question...

If I understand the manual correctly, the video focuses once at the beginning of recording.
So how would this work for sports, for example?
Will it record video in servo mode?
Or is there a setting such as wide open wide angle that has enough depth of field to make up for the stationary focus mechanism?

I'll experiment with shooting at the widest zoom to see if it gets enough dof to make a little movement passable.
Otherwise its off to get a Playsport by Kodak, although I'm just assuming it does servo AF...

Don't forget the influence that aperture size has on this too.
