I Just Got a Newswear.com 'Mens Digital Chestvest', and realized that there are almost no info or reviews about this great Chestvest, so I fugured I'd doa quick one.

This is Professional Quick Access Weight-Distributed Chestvest that can carry a lot of gear, as you will see in the photos below.Available in Black or a Navy Blue/Grey ,I opted for Black. Fabric is Nylon Like, Semi Water Resistant.

Vest consist on four main compartments taht have four more accesory pockets inside each flap.

The materials are excellent straps, velcro, pockets and buckles all seem extra durable

Overall this is great 'bag', you can access you gear quickly and easy, I was looking for a better alternative to carry gear since my back tends to act up when I carry this much weight; I used to carry it all on a Crumpler 7MDH but lately I couldt take it. I searched the net but found little to no info on this great vests,I knew a friedn of mine had one but he lives far from my house, but I had no other choice and went to visit him so I could try it out. and it totally Rocked My World, I got home and order it right away.I really like it; and I hope if anyone is looking to buy into one of these this review will help!
Best Regards From Puerto Rico!

PS: This is a one size-fits-all design that quickly adjusts to any body size or shape and will easily fit extremley tall or short, wide or thin people.
And I Also looked into the Thinktak belts; but to carry this much gear it'll cost you twice what the Newswear Does, and it only puts weight on yoor waist unlike the Newswear that Distributes it on your chest, back, waist, and shoulders, freeing your body from stress points.

Newswear Dteailed Info:
Available in Black or a Navy Blue/Grey
Designed for the photographer who wants to pack alot of gear.
Four main compartments are supplemented by four more accesory pockets inside each flap.
Extra large pockets allow storage of up to 3 Digital Camera bodies plus lenses.
The two center pockets fit most telephoto lenses like the Nikon 2.8 80-200mm zoom lens and the 300mm F4 as well as the Canon 70-200mm 2.8 zoom lens and the 300mm F4 telephoto and even the newer Canon 300mm 2.8 lens.
Camera weight is distributed over a number of areas including the chest, back, waist, and shoulders, freeing your body from stress points caused by traditional camera bag designs.
Pockets secure camera gear with large patches of Velcro. No zippers are used.
Adjustable buckles and straps make for a one size-fits-all design that quickly adjusts to any body size or shape and will easily fit extremley tall or short, wide or thin people.
The adjustable straps keep you cool in hot weather and allow the bag to fit over winter clothing when the temperature drops.
Fabric is easily spot cleaned with cloth and warm water and is so strong the Chestvest will last for many years.

nice, I just wish it looked like a vest in the shoulders and maybe added a few small/slim pockets up to? I LOVE the lower pockets and it's almost exactly what I'm looking for, but I know I'll get enough questions wearing a vest, but a strapped on belly utility belt? yeah, no thanks.

They do sell extra Pouches that can be added (s-xl):

And you can setup the vest to be higher so it wont be on your belly

I personally Don't mind 'looking weird' with it, if it can help me be more productive and avoid breaking my back. And People Seem to See me and my Friend with more 'respect' because we 'look seriously Professional' when work with them on. LOL

Your best solution then is to find someone who sews to create a vest to both fit you and your gear. Really it isn't all that hard to do, quality fabrics can be found and from there it is a matter of fitting and designing the pockets to fit what you have.

^ yeah, I've been considering going with vest guy.

and Munky, it's not so much looking weird really, as you'll look weird enough (and get respect) with a vest, it's just that it looks like a contraption not a bag -or- vest the way it is now? If they just sewed this onto a backing vest it'd probably be more comfortable and look more normal? But I like the function of this more than the vestguy vest thanks to the velcro tops. I LOVED the idea of the lowepro vest with just loops for their S&F cases but it's SUPER short and fits ridiculously...

As a year long user of their Men's Foul Weather Chestvest I can give you 1 advice, if you wear this and a backpack, make sure the flaps on the sides of the chestvest are covering the ticky part of the velcro, or the soft padding on your backpack gets ruined.

For the rest, it's a really great system, mine is pretty worn out and I'd buy another one instantly :)

Saw this review and decided that this might work better for me than the 20 + camera carrying equipment that I had. Was ready to find a way to purchase this and subject myself to caustic questions from the spouse about yet another camera bag.
But I did remember that I had the think tank change up that has a waist belt and 2 shoulder straps. In addition I can add on any of the modular gear from TT that I have.
It might work as well as the newswear stuff. Will try it on my next hike.
