What's wrong with Bay Photo?

Michelle, are you talking about a print service other than Bay Photo or are you asking about an actual printer?

Print service. It looked to me as if Bayphoto is open to the consumer.

A consumer can order almost anything that a pro can. Just because the house is "pro only" doesn't mean there is a competitor offering a similar product.

The ability for photographers to sell vastly marked up prints is disappearing with the access the consumer has to internet vendors. The market will have to adjust.

Because you have the high res file, sharpen and color correct it for the specific output and handle the ordering and shipping?

Because you own the images? Unless you give them hi-res versions of all your shots, they can't order anything except through you.

Miller's offers these types of prodcuts, and is a professional-only house. They own Mpix, which consumers can order from as well. In fact, since my galleries go on Zenfolio for ordering, all of my order fulfillment comes from Mpix. It's never been an issue. Like I said, you own the rights to the photos, so how are they going to order them elsewhere?

Oh well let's not get into the giving the client a cd debate! Y'all all have made valid points and I guess I just need to decide how I'm going to market it. THanks!
