It just came in the mail, have had it for a few hours and will be heading to Lake Tahoe this Weekend for some fun in the snow with my Wife and dogs going snowshoeing!

All I can say right now is that I am very thankful I have a gripped XTi cause I took the grip off and WOAH! That thing feels weird without the grip with the 70-200L mounted! It does make me crave wanting to dive into a 1D classic... LOL!

Just got mine and its a beast. I have a 500D and yes I would say a grip is a must with this lens. Enjoy, its an amazing bit of kit.

Good luck and have fun. Certainly agree ... body + grip/batteries + 70-200 f/2.8 L IS = HEAVY shooting!

You'll get used to it!
