I had some fun shooting my first ever concert gig last night.

Steep learning curve, but I had a blast.

Those are pretty good.

I tried taking some shots at a friend's gig a while back, but had a lot of trouble shooting in such low light conditions. My main problem was the fact that, due to the low conditions, I needed longer exposure times - and of course, in a rock gig, the band members don't exactly stand still.

Most of my shots came either under-exposed, or blurry.

Any tips?

Thanks guys, I was pretty stoked with some of the keepers I managed to capture. It was my first time ever shooting available light, so I wasn't expecting to shoot anything decent, to be honest.

The first shot is a mate of mine.

The second shot is Martin Smith, lead singer of Delirious. (external link)

Quite nice! That first shot captured great light on the lead, wonderful capture of the background guy, all set off by the heads/hands of the audience. A rare and well seen combination.

Dwight hit it on the head! I couldn't figure out what I liked so much about the first shot and that's it! Everything, just makes you feel like part of the audience. And Suuuuper sharp.
