Anyone ever get a new dslr body from Amazon? Good experience?
I picked up a 7d (to try out again) and it looked repacked. I took a test shot and and it showed 1295 so I looked in Opnda and sure enough showed 1295 shutter releases...Guess it's going back. Stinks as I have my daughters basketball game tomorrow night.

I got my 60D from them about 2 months ago. New in box and no issues.

Amazon has partners around the country that fill orders for them. Sounds like your order was filled by a company that unfortunately doesn't allows follow the Amazon standards. Make sure your return states it was a used item. Assuming it was filled by a business partner, they'll likely be warned to shape up or shop out.

Was it Amazon or another company selling it on Amazon stores? I'd call up Amazon and see what they will do; they replaced a printer for me (and a return label to send the opened printer back).

I didn't think it was possible to get the shutter count from a 7D, I just loaded an image into Opanda and did not see a shutter count. Am I missing something?

I purchased my 7D via Amazon and did not have any issues. I did not check to see what the shutter count was since I was under the impression that you could not check it. I also ordered a 32Gb Transcend card however first thing I did was format it so I could install the latest firmware the second the batter was fully charged. After firmware install I formated it again and of course the count read zero. I would contact Amazon (assuming it was sold by amazon and not a third party) and work it out with them.

Now the most interesting thing with this thread is Kendon's post using a linux environment in order to pull of the actual shutter count. If it actually works, once sniper tests it, going to so put a partition for one on my HD just so I can pull down the information when needed!

If it does indeed work, the process should be documented and added to the 7D sticky on this board!

I got my 7D from Amazon. It was great!

You need to look ay the actual seller. Sometimes it's not Amazon. When the seller is Amazon I have always had good luck. I have purchased many things from other sellers on the site and never had a problem.

Called them this am. They sent a shipping label. Also told me to go ahead and use it today as planned then return (since it is alrady documented as a used camera sold at the new amazon rate)
