This may sound stupid but I have trouble setting up some of the pictures I took using flash. Some are either too bright or too dark. I would also like to know how to master fill-flash.

You can activate it by selecting the always fire flash mode (lightning bolt with A). To get the best pictures, keep in mind that the flash works best in illuminating things up to 10-12' away from the camera. If you are too close, you risk overpowering the image with light and vice versa.

Yes, you need to select the always fire flash mode, but that's the lightning bolt by itself, and not the one with the A. (A=automatic, which means the camera decides whether or not to fire.) newhouse230 Mostly Lurking 10 posts Joined Aug 2004 More info | Sep 18, 2005 01:33 | #4 I think a common problem is that the camera automatically uses a shutter speed of 1/250 or slower to achieve sync. Since the smallest aperture is f8 you may get overexposure particularly if you have e.i. set at anything but 50.
