Saw some JLT Versalite 500 for $184 each and some 800 $225 and a 1000 for $225. I read a couple of reviews that indicated that people who bought them got shocked with sync cords attached to the camera.

Does anyone know about these lights? I have stands and umbrellas, but not sure if I want to buy them as they are listed as clearance.

Thanks

I have some mobilight 301's It's similar to the genesis 300b's in terms of function. The build quality on the 301's leaves a little to be desired. The power adjustment is barely over 3 stops which is an issue i've seen on a friends similar era versalight. Supposedly the newer versalights are better....

I've always made due with them. I'd rate my 301's as being better than the super cheapo strobes, such as the ubiquitous cylindrical whoever stamps their name on it models and not as nice as genesis/alien bees.

I've never been shocked by mine. It doesn't really surprise me though
