Thanks for the nice feedback folks. Muchly appreciated...

As for "competing" with other photographers... I don't think "compete" is the right word. We all have a vision of how best to capture the magic of flight. Some are very strict documentarians while others lean more in an artistic direction.

Personally, I think I tend to do a little of both. Generally, the rarer the subject, the more I prefer to give my audience nice clean looks against the day it may no longer be flying or be taken to a museum.

I can be as competitive as the next person when I need to be but you also have to understand that there are boundaries when shooting aviation that, if crossed, can get seriously hurt or killed.

It's one thing to try and bring back images that nobody else has captured but it's another to try and do so at the expense of your safety or that of your subject.
