Here are a couple of pictures of a little cat that we adopted from our garden after the mother disappeared. Actually there were two but one got very dehydrated and died as it didn't figure out how to drink kitten milk from the syringe. This one however survived and is probably the smartest cat I know !!!

Here are some pictures taken with the 5 DII. One of the pictures I was testing ISO 1600 and am amazed at how clean the grain is.

If you want to see how smart this cat is watch this video I made, when I couldn't figure out how the little kitty always managed to get out of rooms. So I setup a tripod and camera and ....

Actually it is a "she" and she really is very cute. She does have that incredibly annoying howl that I haven't heard from any other cat, and she uses it to good effect. But all in all this cat is the smartest cat I have ever seen. I mean she will play fetch with a little toy mouse for hours on end, and just like a dog will bring it back to me to throw again. She also knows how to open drawers and take stuff from inside!

Here is the same kitty about a year ago, a few days after she opened here eyes. This is with Canon 40D. It is amazing how much the eyes change as they grow!

That kitten picture makes me want to cry! I don't think I've ever seen a creature look SO sad! No wonder you kept her...I would have too and I'm not even a cat person!

We had to change out three paddle-type doorknobs for round ones to keep our male shorthair from doing this same trick.

Beautiful Kitty you've got there.

Yes !! my thoughts exactly. Actually there were two and at first I didn't want to move them thinking their mother would take them to wherever the other litter was. But then it became obvious that they were abandoned and left to the elements and they looked so innocent and helpless. One of them died because it simply refused to take milk from the syringe, while this one immediately took to the syringe. There was one time that I thought it was going to die, for some reason its tummy got huge and it became comatose. A quick googling and I found out that you had to stimulate their genital with a warm tissue to get them to pee ... who would have thought of that! Apparently the mother does that to teach them to pee. That little kitty was apparently going to die otherwise, but a couple of hours after that it was fine again. Thank God for google search!
