Shutter Speed (Exposure Time) = 1/512 second

Think about a much slower shutter speed for prop aircraft. See the "Airshow guys - prop freeze?" & other links in post #2 of: Shooting airshows in Manual

Thanks but quite happy with my speeds, this a/c had almost come to a stand still when i shot handheld at 200th sec@ f11 with my 28-300L, don't like the risk a blurred shot !!

+1 on what PhotosGuy said about the prop-arc.

you could probably get away with f/8 as well seeing as the Spit isn't too large.

nice machine though! can't beat the sound of the Merlin.

Fire off a burst of 3 to 4 shots at 1/60 to 1/80th an you will get a sharp shot, and a much more pleasing shot. That being said, there are so many cool Spits in Europe. Too bad none of them ever make it over here.

There are some in Canada that made it over to Michigan five years ago. I hadn't seen them before or since, though.
