Last year I upgraded to CS4 (Suite), 64 bit, when I purchased new computers with Windows 7. As the 64 bit version was known to be buggy, I actually used the 32 bit version for most of the year.

Now as CS5 has been out for almost a year, I am considering upgrading with the expectation that the 64 bit version will have been improved and resolved any known faults.

I this enough of a reason to invest in the CS5 (Suite) upgrade for around $600?

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Mahalo,

Has anyone experienced or know of any known faults with CS5 64 bit that would make you think twice or recommending buying or upgrading?

Much thanks!

You'll always here about bugs here and there with any software, but the only consistent things that people have encountered it that some plug-in vendors have been slow to deliver 64-bit versions. The only other consideration really is system resources...each new version of Photoshop/Lightroom/Aperture/whatever will want more memory, etc.

I've had zero problems with Windows 7 and/or CS5 64 bit and I jumped in the pond at their release.

Photoshop CS5 is great, but it might be worth your while to wait for CS6. If you only need the 64bit working go with CS5.
I would expect that there will be more features and bug fixs with CS6 as the major work/effort was put in to get CS5 64bit working for the Mac.
