We should ask a currency trader. If the dollar tanks another 25% against the Yen, it could be $3000 just for the existing mk2!

hehe, your wish will come soon enough. In a year or so you can get a 5dc (much more MP than your wish of 8MP) for around $600. A 16 MB CF card will be only about 20-30 bucks then, someone can easily throw in the deal for you.

no, I need sensor cleaning.

5D3 and a few lens

I hope they come out before 2012, becouse the world will end then. How tragic wouldn't that be for canon? The world ends before they managed to lounch the new product that they have been working on for such a long time.

And the price will be 3200 for the first three month, then it goes down, and afther 6-12 month it lands on 2400.

I'm probably in the minority, but I would actually like them to pull a 60D on the 5Dmk2 and make it a great camera with a bit cheaper build and feature set priced a little lower. Maybe around $1999? That would make room for a $3000-3500 EOS 3D and then a 1D/s combining $5000-6000 body. Frankly I think Canon and Nikon both are going to kill their $8000 body since medium format is near that price point now.

I'm guessing $3500 at release and then it will go down to around $3000 after 6 months to a year. Especially with the current exchange rates.

I'm actually with you on that. For what I would be using a FF camera for, I wouldn't really need the robust build.
