This is the 70-200IS at 200mm, 2 x 2TCs, Monopod, Manual Focus, ISO 800, 1/80th, f/16 (1 stop down from wide open), "IS" on, so effective FOV is almost 1300mm (yes, I was quite a distance away).

Not a recommended combination but what the heck. Slightly post-processed in PS7 and resized. Not bad, all things considered eh?

You're right. Not bad at all.

Funny...I had two 2X TCs for a while and never though of trying that. I also had two 1.4X TCs at the same time. Think of the possibilities.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Looks usable! If I was desperate, and had the gear, I'd probably use it for birdies here n there. :-) Can 3-t-cons be stacked? Or only up to 2?

They can be physically stacked, sure, but if you mean three 2xTCs, your VF is going to be about as bright as your bedroom at 2am, and MF is going to be one major task! In addition, diffraction is really going to start setting in as will CA. But what the heck, try it out ;)

Fstopjojo,

that's a pretty impressive result ... expecially considering 1/80 on 1300 mm effective focal length.
(BTW, 1300 effective FOV is easier to get ... just crop in PS  )

Best regards,
Andy

some cameras, some lenses,
and still a lot of things to learn...
(so post processing examples on my images are welcome :D)

"IS" on, so effective FOV is almost 1300mm

Are you saying that image stabilization affects the field of view? Help me understand that, please. By my calculations, 200 x 2 x 2 = 800mm.

Don't forget to add the 1.6x...it's a shot from a 20D according to the EXIF :)

Impressive shot though, all things considered.

A bit off topic, but the color out of that lens always impresses me.
