Of those 20 how many did you book?

They are still waiting for other photographers quotes to compare. Price shoppers are really hard to work with. Their expectations are high and don't appreciate your hard work.

I took my prices off my website this year and I've never been busier. I chat up brides all the time via email inquires. I ask a few detail questions then I lay out what I'm offering that fits their needs at a good price.

I've found that inquiries that ask pricing before talking about their wedding day are tire kickers.
My web site shows a starting price. That way, they know if Iam in their price range. Then, if they like the images on the site enough to call or fill out the form, I, as politely as possible, push for a face to face. They (imo) need to see and feel me and my personality. After all, they will be spending all day with me. I invest time to their thoughts of what they want for their photography (it's their day and I let them know that it's their photography). From that , I let them know how I will approach the photography for their wedding day. I always have contracts with me and usually walk away with a retainer.
My closing rate is very high when doing it like this.
