Kind of a dull gray day. Three shot HDR to bring out some detail. I think I am getting better at HDR but need your advise if I am to improve

I like it....but if it was me, I'd fix the slight lean to the lighthouse and make it verticle....and use the healing brush to get rid of the seagulls....but maybe the seagulls look ok in the full sized version.

HDR tends to work better if the dynamic range of the lighting is better...flat and dull, like winter, doesn't help.

If you've never used Nik Software's Color Efex Pro, download the trial and play with it...the tonal contrast function would enhance the detail from your single shot nicely in this flat light environment.

@ cutwater

Maybe the lighthouse has adopted a lean over the years, because the pier looks damn close to horizontal. The crookedly installed lightning rod annoys me the most.

Thanks; I think I will give that Efex Pro a try over the next long weekend. The seagulls don't look any better since they were a little in the distance and maybe due to the blowing snow flurries. Thanks for the advise and comments.
