Testing out the eBay softbox that just came in. I think I like it! Not bad for $60. C&C welcomed.

*edit: added a Photobucket hosting in addition to the original POTN attachment for comparison. Still not sure that I worked out the "sharpness" bug. It's still way clearer on my original .psd file.

Not bad. The focus seems a little soft though

Looks good, but it could use a shadow under her chin to give it separation. You should also angle your light to give it some depth. ;)

Here's a shadow shot to define the chin from the neck

I was afraid someone would say that. I'll have to post 100% crop later. It's actually fairly sharp but uploding to POTN leaves some to be desired.

I was going for paramount lighting so lighting placement was intentional. Though I agree it could use a little more shadow under the chin etc. That's what I get for using a silver reflector. Nice use of short lighting on yours by the way!

Thanks for the comments!

Heres the 100% crop. Even this looks a little soft when uploaded. I really need to find a better uploading source :o

Mike, Do you have a photobucket account? You can upload to there full file size and then just copy and paste the IMG code to your post here and they show up sharper then resizing and uploading directly through POTN. If you have any questions just ask here or pm me. Hope this helps.

I just got my first pair of glasses that I didn't think I needed. I apologize to anybody in the past year that I said their pictures were out of focus lol.

I think if you resize your photo then sharpen it then upload to POTN things may be fine.

I looked only at the photos, but for the second one I would crop out or clone the upper right corner as it's quite distracting.

I have one but haven't used it in months as I always had issues with image compression. I'll have to play with it and I'll keep you in mind if I have any hiccups. Thanks!

The funny part is that I already did. Resized the image then applied an unsharp mask with a 1px radius at 4%.

For some reason I always thought it was 800 x xxx and <150kb. Thanks for clarifying that.
