Next week I will be upgrading my OS from XT to 7. If I understand correctly, I need to "un-register" my PS (my terminology may be off), then do the OS upgrade, then re-install and re-register PS. Correct?

Any other steps that I'm missing, by chance?

Of course, the same would hold true for other programs, MS Office, etc.

Deactivate... that's the word I was looking for but could not remember.

In Photoshop, I believe Adobe lets you install CS on two computers. So as long as your current computer is the only computer you've ever installed it on, you should be able to install it again without any problem.

Otherwise, open PS...and follow Quad's advice to 'deactivate' -- that should work fine.

With Microsoft software, it's a little different. I'm not sure how many times you can reinstall older versions of Office '03 or '07. I know I've installed my Office '03 a number of different times, and I've never had an issue with it not accepting the key code.
