I had posted this question earlier but could not find the link that would help explain. At #2 you see the before and after of the architect. I'm trying to figure out how this look is achieved. I've played in PS but still can't figure out how its done.

One suggestion was bracketing of the original image but the more I thought about it I don't think that is how its done.

IF I'm looking at the right picture, it looks like they made the WB cooler, upped the exposure, increased contrast and upped the blacks a bit... and cloned out the distractions in the background.
