Capture One LE vs Adobe

I just started playing with Capture One DSLR LE tonight and after a few minutes I see improvements in shadow detail and contrast already. Here is an example of the Adobe Raw plug-in and Capture One DSLR LE:

Thanks for the post Dan, I'll be downloading the Capture One DSLR myself now for a trial. I imagine that I'll be keeping it if it works as good as it looks.

Excellent peace of software. Superb skin tones and unlike ACR - without excessive noise.

The Capture One image looks over saturated to me.

I agree that prior image is a bit oversaturated. With very little tweaking (I just clicked on the auto gray balance feature), the image is corrected. More importantly is how Capture One maintained the correct color. This flower really is bright red. The Adobe Raw conversation seemed to add blue moving towards a pink color. If I attempted to correct the WB color in Adobe, the background colors got all messed up.

I think the corrected image is much more natural. It would be helpful to see how each does with skintones, since that is the most difficult test.

Hello ... the power of the raw converter comes from experience and uderstanding how you can use the features of the software to strengthen your images. I obviously know this software inside and out and know you will find the ability to manipluate the raw images very benificial. If you think images are too saturated you can change that easily. I am personally amazed at how well this software does compared to other aw converters. The workflow is incredible in terms of productin flow. Best of all the price is right.

Just downloaded CaptureOne LE. So far I think it is a mixed bag. I'm converting images from my Canon 10d and comparing them to Adobe Camera RAW (with the hack). First of all, Adobe is about ten times faster.

The C1 images seem smoother and the color more natural, BUT there is less detail overall and, most important, CI seems to have blownout highlight details. I've played with the settings but still find that Adobe holds detail better in the highlights and images look less blown out around spectral flares. In my view, blown out highlights is the biggest drawback of using a digital camera so this is enough of a reason to stick with Adobe Camera RAW. I also wonder how much better Adobe Camera RAW will be once they update the software to handle the 10D without the hack.

I'd provide a sample image but I'm not sure how to do that on this forum. If some one will be so kind as to let me know how to do this I'll post samples.

Funny, that your experience except the speed is just the opposite to others.
I just got rid of blown highlights and banding with C1LE.
IMO ACR's only advantages are speed and ease of use.
Qualitywise C1LE has no competition.
I'm using D60 though.
Edit: C1LE RC1 is just a release candidate.
Next fix will be available soon (next week?) so it's a bit premature to judge a product which is not a production version.
Bugs should of course be reported but that should be done by emailing the Phase One development team.
In the C1LE help menu there is an option for technical feedback.
People at Phase One seem to be quite responsive.

Does anyone Know if phase one is going to put out a
C1 dslr Le for Mac ?
Just curious , I just started with ACR and am comparing it with Pekka Linear Sharpen. I am finding the linear sharpened photos to be alittle more saturated than the default settings in ACR
