So here's a link to my test of my 10 Manual focus lenses that work on my Pentax K100D. I have a nice write-up of the results and the 100% composite shot is available for viewing.

Here's a hint as to the results... the best lens isnt always the "fastest lens".

Bodies: SONY A850 / Pentax K100D / D70 (18-55VR, 55-200)
Primes: Minolta 28 ff2.8 / Minolta 50 f1.7 / Minolta 50 f2.8 Macro
Zooms: 35-70 f4 / 100-200 f4.5 Lights: AB800 / AB400 & CSRB's
Classics:
Pentax Super Tak 50 f1.4 / Pentax SMC 50 f1.4,f1.7,f2.0

That's always been true. Slower primes usually beat out everything else. For instance, my 40 year old 105mm f/2.5 Nikkor is rated better than the new "L"s.

had you done this with a 5d2.. i would have bookmarked it and saved it forever ;(
