Very well done!

This and the Grand Canyon are on my lists of places I want to visit. Oh yeah, and rent a 68 Mustang fastback and drive through the streets that Steve McQueen did in Bullet.

this is the web site for the attraction.
note it is not a state or federal park.
and it is a long way off the main road.
and totally worth the drive.
it is just amazing to see.

nice shot. I got a similar one when I was there a year ago, but I think I was one tier up on the observation platforms.

You can't actually go in the crater. Maybe if you have a special research pass or something, but not the general public. There are a number of observation platforms around where the above picture was taken. There is also a free, guided tour that goes about 1/2 mile around the rim to the West, and then back. I think it leaves every 30 minutes or so.

Paul

if you go to google earth and locate the crater, then look south, there are a few more impact points.
i saw at least 4 more smaller ones and one good sized one.
