I noticed this morning while doing some "research" on Adorama's site that they have some 70-200 2.8 IS II's refurbs for $1,999, if anyone's interested.

As usual this year will probably be no difference. The rebates will simply be a wash with the upcoming Canon price increases. Silverfox1 POTN Feedback / TC Extender Tests / Gear List

People are willing to pay top dollar for L lenses. I consistantly see people win auctions where they buy used L lenses for what we can get them for new. Go figure, but I think that tells the story of how badly people want those L's. _

I see 100-400's selling for more used that I paid for mine new about 3 years ago. One thing about it, the price increases keep the value up on the "previously owned" ones!!

Yep, it seems that the available quantity is now gone. Well, at least Canon is now offering refurbs for it though.

The $1890 calumet is very enticing. All I can find out there is $2299 pricing. I am worried about the $100 or so price increase that is pending negating any future sales. Opinions on buying now or waiting around for a sale? I can live without the lens for a while.

That really affects these prices. If the dollar was stronger we would see prices go down.
