I set high pass at 5.0 or 10.0 depending what I think I need on the shot. Then I go to blending mode on the layer and pick overlay. I then set my blend at 40% to 50% again depending on what I think I need for the shot. Try this I know you are going to like it. It takes that plastic look away IMO.
