I currently have the Benro Travel Angel - Aluminum Model 069 with the B-00 ballhead that they sell as a combo. I was wondering if I would be better served by changing the head to a photoclam model or am I not right in my thinking that the ballhead is the limiting factor? Along those same lines, would anyone know what the stable limit is on these legs?

If you feel the legs are stable, and I'm not familiar with the Benro Aluminum, I would look at the Photoclam. Also check the Markins Q3t, it's not that much more expensive than the Photoclam, the new kid on the block.

But there are a lot of members here who have the Photoclam and I've not heard anything bad about it here...might be worth the money. The Q3t is a known quantity, though.

If you're thinking of replacing the sticks, I'd look at the Feisol 3441s or 3441t.

I have a travel angel...the 2691 which is a carbon magnesium base....just bought the makins q3t and it is an amazing travel set...light weight, highly versatile ...and if it seems a little unstable, you can hand extra weightnoff the center column hook(not sure if yours can do that as well). Had the j2 bullhead (a beastbof a ballhead) and it did just fine

As for limit, checkout the benro website...should have the stats you need

I plan to pick up a photo clam when I get to S. Korea this summer as well....or if...damn forget the company name...has their geared ballhead out by then (and I can swap shoes) will pick that up instead
