For some reason I just love to put a camera in my hand and do stupid things. Just some fun footage from a day snowboarding at Northstar-at-Tahoe.

a local from here in texas has built a nice mount for the go pro, weve tested it on our sport bikes

but check him out, i think they are affordable, i dont know how it could be used in snow boarding, but if you do any other sports..

thanks! i'm not sure which one you're talking about, but the jumps in order are:

backside rodeo
switch backside 540
cab 540
backside 180
cab 540
frontside 720
frontside 360

...i think thats all of the 'jumps' if you will, not including rails, bonks, etc. let me know if that clears it up :)

I am looking to do this with my friend who is a pro snowboarder....Ive been snowboarding for 18 years but cant do anything other than 180's and any grab and medium size rails.... ::thumbs up::

Got a GoPro for my snowboarding trip recently and it was a great experience to capture the fun.

Like I said on other thread, GoPro is an excellent tool to document your activities. Get couple of them and stick them everywhere.

looks like the SD version? If so, try out the HD if you get a chance, it's stunning.

They're really fun. I can just toss it in my pocket if I want to ride instead of film, and I don't even notice that it is there.

Yeah, this is just the small filesize to test out. I tried the HD and it looked good, but for youtube I'm not gonna sweat it.

Snowboarding is a "stupid thing"? I thought it was going to be something awesome like base-jumping down a waterfall or something lol.

Most people would not consider jumping 60+ft while filming oneself via a handheld camera or $2K+ DSLR setup a good idea...but opinions may vary

Are your snowboarding self-portraits taken with the GoPro or a DSLR? If DSLR, how'd you get everything in focus and press the shutter button?!

Sick pics!

Hey Eastside, thanks!

The self portraits were with a 5d and 15mm fisheye. I used a remote trigger in one hand and the camera in the other hand. Some fancy handwork was needed for this. I prefocused with the fisheye at about 3 feet and used f8 for plenty of depth of field.
