Excellant shots and top of the chart clarity! If I may pick your brain for a sec.-there are obviously flurries going on, but I don't see any in front of the birds. How do you get rid of those?? Had the same situation recently, and I tried spot-healer & burn tool w/ little success. Shots were UGLY! If a PM response is more appropriate, that would be fine. Thank you in advance.

I always love the sight of ducks in the air. They're great flyers but seem to have to work real hard at it. These are wonderful shots, Harvey. Amazing you got this much clarity in those conditions.

Dandy Duck shots my friend! Quite beautiful images for the nasty looking weather, it looks like what I have been seeing every other day....... capturing the ice on the bill is quite impressive... :)

I miss your buddy Joe's photos and dialog... please greet him from me.

Fantastic flight shots!

.
Thanks very much everybody. It's really kind of you all to look in and leave such complimentary comments. I truly appreciate it.

ardeekay, at the distances I was shooting, the depth of field is pretty shallow with more of the image being in focus behind the subject than in front. It's like shooting through a chain link fence that is very close. It is so out of focus, that you don't see it in the image. Also, there would be relatively fewer snowflakes in the field of view closer to the camera and moving faster. However, if you look closely, you should still see a few between me and the birds.

OK, Harv-makes sense. Thank you for the info and I'll try to keep that bit of info in my pea brain-lol. Sometimes I wonder if this whole business is a little too complicated for me?!? But I love it! Again, great series.

These shots are outstanding in any circumstance but on a gray snowy day they're off the chart excellent.

You're a lucky guy to have a friend like Joe, that's really going the extra mile in pain for a buddy. I've had a few migraines and they can be immobilizing. It would be a supreme pleasure to shoot along side you guys one day, I'm sure we'd have some laughs. I knock the cold weather a lot but it sure makes for some nice photo texture.

I hope Joe is feeling better.
