There is no doubt that the American Goldfinch is a spectacular little bird in it's bright breeding colors but the winter plumage has a quality of it's own that I really like as well. Hopefully you will, too.

These are all wonderful renditions of this immaculate little bird Harvey... clean, crisp feathers in "living, natural color".... :) you are my mentor!
I have been getting a few goldfinches flying in at various times... they accompany the redpolls and Pine Grosbeaks... my little guys are sporting the same hues.

Wow, Harvey. These are some really wonderful shots! Big fan of #4, myself; the combo of the darker portion of the background, the muted colors on the bird and its pose just really pop there, to me.
