I see these on every hike I go on. Does anyone know what they are and if they are poisonous?

According to my National Audobon Society Field Guide to Insects & Spiders, it looks like a Crablike Spiny Orb Weaver (Gasteracanta elipsoides). It doesn't mention them being poisonous, so I guess not.
