So I did my first HRD...nothing fancy, just something to practice on...however, when I went to save it, there was no JPEG option...so I figured TIFF is a good universal format, so I saved it as that...but now it's too big to host anywhere...so...how do I save my TIFF as a JPEG and for future reference how do I save an HDR as a JPEG right away without going through this TIFF step.

Change from 16 bit to 8 bit.

A-HA! I had a feeling that that would be it, but I didn't want to monkey with random stuff until I make things even worse haha...Thank you!! :D

EDIT: it was actually in 32 bit...whatever that means haha :D

And my first ever HDR...it's not much, but now at least I've given it a shot :)

Glad it worked. I forgot about the chance of it still being 32 bit.

Nice and natural looking.

Thanks! :) That was my intention...I have hated HDR for years, but lately I've been seeing a lot of natural looking HDRs and thought I'd give it a shot...it's kind of nice, with the 1D I can do hand-held HDRs! The outcome is nothing special, but I do like the way it looks...I think I'll explore HDR a bit more from now on :)

Intent accomplished. I prefer the natural look myself, but some overdone HDR's look kinda cool too. Very easy to go overboard with the Tonemapping.

Enjoy your exploring.

Thanks! I still don't even know what tonemapping is, let alone know how to use it haha...

I'm not sure this would fit any definition of an HDR. I don't see any extension of the Dynamic Range. The water at the top is blown out and lacking detail, so the DR wasn't increased enough to capture that. And the beach itself doesn't have a tonal range that is beyond the ability of any camera to capture.

Well, it's my first attempt at putting three identical images with different exposures (EV -1/0/+1) together...call it what you wanna call it :D
