The real problem is carrying the D3 body and the 70-200 attached. I guess I'll just leave it detached.

I'm starting to have seller's remorse about the 16-35. I wouldn't have sold it if I knew at the time I was going to sell the D700. :(

go get one  I envy you...I have been eyeing that lens for almost a year now... about 2 or 3 months after I bought the D700 and it looks like I am still a long way to go from owning it :(

I want to make sure it isn't just a case of NAS (I like that better than GAS ;)). Selling the D700 has thrown a monkey wrench into my plans. I'm even considering going the D7K route again.

I use a DaKine Sequence Bag, which carries my D700 and 70-200 attached well together. What's better, for me, is it doesn't look like a photo bag, but it has great pockets, etc and is a nice size. At $120, it's a lot better priced than a lot of bags too. I'll take a photo of it.

Right now, there's a Gripped D90 at the bottom, an F100 to the below it, a Mamiya 645 back on top of a 60mm 2.8 to the left, the mamiya, and the 70-200 VR II on top of a sekonic meter. I wish I could fit my 24-70, but I do have more space in other areas of the bag if I really needed.

Oh snap!

Man the F100 brings back memories...Years ago I was on the fence, Buy an F100 and some new lenses or get the EOS 3 and a 50mm f/1.4 USM

I think its obvious the path i chose..But...I guess now i wish i woulda been more patient...

I also didnt understand that the AF motor in the body would be substantially faster in the F100

The 3 is a great camera too, but I love my F100's. Bought 2 :)

I want to switch to nikon before I have anything significant invested in canon. You guys think I'll be happy with a D7000 and a 35 1.8 + 85 1.8 over a 1Dc+Tamron 28-75+135L? I shoot people

Also how does the sb-600 compare to the 430ex?

Depends, the D7000 is not going to be bulletproof

But IQ-wise the D7000 is likely going to be a massive step up (although the 1Dc has its own unique rendition of stuff from my understanding...you gotta keep in mind the TEN YEARS of improvements)

as for lenses, I'm unsure, the lenses are good dont get me wrong but im just not sure if they'll suit you perfectly

Cant comment on the SB-600 vs 430ex

The 3 had psychic autofocus ;) Who needs single point when all 45 psychically know what you want

That is the one thing i will EVER agree with KR on

Thanks for the input. I've found that I really dont need or like the bulkiness of the 1D. So the samll form factor of the d7000 is a plus for me. And any suggestions for a lens?

Which Ape case?

I have two, the ACPRO1400 and the larger ACPRO1600. I prefer the smaller one, mainly because it's more manageable. But I also dislike fundamental aspects of the design of the 1600, mainly that it has a space for a laptop which cannot be used instead to expand the camera space. As a carry-all it's probably fairly well designed; as a camera bag it's lacking. But the 1400 is a great bag.
