With Nikon you can use focus tracking - focus with your single point, and then recompose and watch the camera track your chosen point across the other focus points. It's not 100% perfect (little in life is), but it suits the way Ann & I prefer to work.

Test to see how much tuning is needed. If it's extreme you can consider returning it or sending it in to Nikon.

monk3y Totally Saturated More info | Jul 01, 2011 08:47 | #2484 again I don't think any replacement for the D700 will be coming this year, probably a D4 and a D400 makes sense, but a D700 replacement does not... IMHO

dgrPhotos Cream of the Crop More info | Jul 01, 2011 10:20 | #2485 I'm a bit surprised. Since the D3 received the "x" and "s" up grade and the D300 received the "s" upgrade, one would think the D700 upgrade is next.

Yes, Even the 7D has to fall to it...Not saying the 7D or 60D are bad, but in my view, the best APS-C camera right now is the D7000 As for the D700, I dunno, i personally think its long in the tooth and I think Nikon will make more money and get a lot of happy customers updating the D700 next... I think D400/D800 is plausable for this year, D4 next year....The D4 has to be something VERY special... agree that's why I want one to go with the 120-300mm f/2.8

The 50 F1.8 G won't arrive until after my holiday. No matter, i'll prob take the 16-35 and that's all. I would've liked a 50 prime, just for size, the 24-70 is so big and heavy.
