Don't forget that Canon has a different control layout with the 1D series.

I have a 1 series, indeed I like it better than my 5D2. But I hate the 1D series now. Either too slow to complement my 5D2 or in crop...

I dunno..prob I've been in Canon for too long. Starting to know more of Canon faults than its merit. I do love Canon's TS lenses, primes as well as their cheaper teles as oppose to Nikon ones. But then again the longest I ever will use is probably to 400. So N or C is about the same to me.

Does this thread list some of the nicer things at the other side of the field? Recently I'm looking at geotagging, and find that Nikon has such a simple and straight forward solution - GP-1. Also I like some of the accessories and things that Nikon have thought out. I'm not complaining about Canon, just trying to find out what we have missed out from others (in this case Nikon).

Thanks Kenji, yep don't expect it to sell quickly, The film cameras have been sitting in my closet for ages. The D70 though has been a great camera for me. I traded over to Canon 5D11 and love it. :D maybe i'' see if I can just sell the whole lot for between 600 to 700.

Unfortunately I have not been active on this forum for 30 days yet so I could not post it here. I put it on craigslist and sold it all: The D70s 2 film bodies, and 5 or 6 lens. The Chap is paying via pay pal so I do not think its a scam. I'm sad to see it all go as it represents many years of shooting and memories. KENJI Thanks for helping me value it.

I strongly suggest that if you're happy with the performance and pictures with the system you're using, stick with it. The body is just a tool, as are the lenses. I have favorite shots from my d700 + 24-70G, d700 + Tokina 17, 5DC + 24-70L, 1D + 50mm 1.4, XTi + Sigma 24-70.
Knowing the systems faults is nice, you can work around that. Starting from scratch is a pain in the arse :D

Finally got to try out D700 and 24-70. It's amazingly sharp at f2.8 and requires no micro adjust at all!
I do wish D700 has a higher MP sensor so I can crop a little more.

Do I have to send the warranty card in 10 days to get the 5 year warranty on the lens?

The main reason I swapped from Nikon to Canon was wanting video on a full frame camera. With no video on the D700, and nothing on the horizon except rumors, the dye was cast.

That why I started carrying around the 60d although I didn't care if the "video" camera was full frame or not.

You don't unless you want to "upgrade" from your tamron. The 24-70 is my most used lens by far.

I think that should be "die" :D

I was wondering - how popular is the D3x? I've never come across anyone owning one, and even if I had that sort of money to spend on a camera the reviews wouldn't tempt me.

I went to order DK-17m and DK 19 for the D700 but on the spur of the moment ordered an FM-10 too with some B&W, provia and velvia films. Let's see how it goes with film .... I remember using film when I was a kid and my dad used to put the film for me in the camera so I could waste it with some pointless shots. Am excited about putting the film on my own (and taking a few pointless shots), can't wait (feel like a kid) :p

Thankfully, I have the Zeiss 50 and 80-200, both with aperture ring, so they would work with the FM :)

PS updated the siggy

ZF.2 28/2, ZF.2 50/2 MP .... Rok 85/1.4
D700 .... P7000 .... FM-10 (film)
