Kenji - the flash system is most certainly better!

Speaking of - brother needs a flash! Any thoughts? Shouldn't have sold my Metz damnit, how stupid!

The thing that really gets me is the Macro twin flash is a LOT cheaper, practically HALF the price of the Canon and looks a LOT more flexible (Because you can make it a tri or quad flash if you want ;)) I know that sounds silly, but i do a LOT of macro photography and the thing that ticks me off is the fact Canon's Macro Twinlight is $800!

I can't see any reason they'd change the look or interface significantly. It'll probably look much like a D700.

Got to watch Fat Albert and The Blue Angels this afternoon, but I wasn't equipped with a long lens.

Would love a FF sensor in an otherwise-identical D7k body. Love the 7k's controls, options, etc. just wish it had FF.

it doesn't seem to be very different than those on the D90...

Doesn't look like you needed it man ;)

I decided to go the Vivitar 383 route again, and snatched these up too:

Seem to be popular, AND CHEAP!

...except for dual SD cards, the secondary rotary dial for the shooting mode (great for going from handheld single to remote, or quickly flicking into burst), live view, and the AF mode button in the selector switch. And the assignable function button above the stop down preview.

Thanks! It actually worked out great due to the fact that the Blue Angels fly so low. A long lens still would have been nice for the B-2 flyby though.

FWIW i think the D7000 is built a little better than the D90 personally...

Still not to the level of a 7D or D300s, But better than a D90

I hated the feel of the 7D. It felt like an empty plastic case.

I'd take a D7000 over the 7D. :D

I think it has to do with Canon's spray on grip.

aahh wow!! hehe... I just took a look at the controls and they look a lot like each other... but I guess there are more functions to fiddle around...:D

he!! imagine when I shifted from 500D to D700  the D700 felt like a tank... and until now when I hold it I can really appreciate the build quality.

I agree with you I love the rubbery grip over the plastic feel (well yeah its plastic) on the 500D hahaha

It was more the weight and balance of the camera. It felt hollow. I know that sounds odd but that's also how I felt when I had a 5D Mk II.

A D700, even without a grip mounted has a very solid feel and you feel that there's some serious machinery inside there. I happen to like that feel.

I think we never really realize the hollow feel of canon cameras (I have held both 500D and 40D only though) until we are ablt to hold these nikons hehe I am not sure about the 1 series though
