$1700 at B&W (external link). Totally worth it, way better than the Canon version, sharp as anything and really reliable.

There are no good Nikon forums that I know of. I use here and DWF. There's Nikonians, but I didn't like there, and FredMiranda.com is ok.

It's hard to compare the sharpness of a wide lens with a long lens, and I haven't tested them head to head. Both are good as far as I can tell.

I find fredmiranda ok but people there are sometimes too opinionated

After seeing these new Nikon 1 cameras and some of it's capabilities I really like it but I can't help but think it is priced about 50% more than it should be. How are they going to convince the average consumer to spend $600+ on these little cameras?

About Nikon Forums, There's a high-end forum at luminous landscape. If you want opinionated people...I go there to learn, but haven't posted much. Some think I'm entitled to hear their opinion...

dpreview has Nikon forums. Also Sony, Leica and other brands. Some really good people there. Some get burnt out...

There used to be a Nikon Digital forum for Canadian (worldwide really) users. It has been reinvented and is going strong. Some wannabes...Mainly Nikon users; some Canon, Pentax and others. Some incredible mods; the owner lurks here I think trying to find new participants. If you have photo business experience, it's not a good site.

All of these reinforce how good this forum is. It's all about images, and what it takes to get them.

Best,
DaveL
