According to Nikon Rumors, the new 70-200 F4 VR will be 5 stops as opposed to 4 with the current models.

Damn, that mean I can jump up and down and still get no motion blur!

That lens is going to be perfect for me. I couldn't muster up the courage to spend $2500 for the f/2.8, especially when I don't get paid (nor want to) for my photography. Perhaps if and when I get into wedding photography that will change, but for where I plan to use the f/4, this could do the job. If this comes in at less than $1500, I'll be perfectly happy with it.

We'll see. The new iMacs should be announced today and it's time for a CPU upgrade... Sigh.

edit: Nikon should be announcing this today right?

I'm watching for the IMac thing too.

I read somewhere the Nikon announcement would happen on the 24th.

Funny how all these guys want to come out with this stuff around Christmas time. But I guess it makes sense.

I wouldn't rule out Craigslist either.... As long as you put your hands on it and try it out OU should be good to go....

Yes though Nikon is not admitting there was a problem in the first place.

By the way, Sun/Mon I gave the D800/24-70 combo the first real workout with 1200 shots. That combo does wear me out shooting all day, at some point I may consider the 24-85 VR for times when I don't need the 24-70.

Try Nikoncafe.com. Although it takes 6 months and 300 post minimum before you can buy or sell from that forum, the members are pretty trust worthy since they've all been a member for a while.

The other one that I would recommend is getting a trial membership from nikonians.org. Their for sale forum probably has the best prices around and sellers tend to lower their prices after a week. Good luck.

Glenn
