Somehow I knew you were linking the infamous "wedding photographer falls into water" video. It's been linked and replayed to death. Nothing new to see here. Move along.

You have got to be kidding me. You were overloaded with plastic lenses there. I don't see how everything could have survived a fall like that. The lens attached to the body (with the plastic mounts) should have definitely snapped off.

That's like a ferrari surviving a head-on collision with a monster truck.

I know, i was very very lucky. My camera has battle scars all over it from its days out.

This is the bag i had it in, its held closed by 1 popper and some velcro

Haven't dropped my 40D, yet, but my dog pulled it, with the 100-400 mounted, from the dining room table. She (the dog) almost didn't live through that experience.

I've dropped my FTb twice, my AE-1 once, my Yashicamat once, and my G2 once. In spite of scratches and dents, they've all continued to work. I've been very careful with my 350D and now my 30D, though, knock on wood.

I was sitting in a stadium and had my 20D, 70-200 2.8, and the flash mounted on it. I was sitting on the isle and an elderly man tripped going up the stairs and reached to brace himself and put his hand and weight on my flash popping the flash mount on the camera lose so the flash was moving left to right. It worked a few times and quit.I had it repaired under an extended warranty.

Another time I had my 70-200mmL come off the camera (I think I hit the release) and it fell from waist high and I am 6'2 and it the concrete with a thud! Works fine. I know we all try to be so careful. I have closed my bag and zipped it up each time I am in it for quite some time now. Each time something like that happens you heart kind of jumps in your throat!
